Ok, ok, I'm working on catching up so I can be a good example to the folks I work with. I am reading Joe's Blog regularly because it's got such great information. For example, there's the discussion of Mitchell, SD, a place you don't really want to visit. Then there's the photo of the Collection Development staff - well worth a view. Of course, the daily book feature takes us all into the wild world of ILL. Overall, I have to say that I'm not impressed with blogging but, again, it's just that I can't see spending the time on it. I can do it for Collection Development and if people want to hear from us, I allow as it's as good a way as any to share the info.
Keep in mind - I'm a cynical old curmudgeon. As Lillian Hellman said, "Cynicism is an unpleasant way of saying the truth."

For a self professed bureaucrat, Betty is not using much bureaucratese. Perhaps she isn't as old and cranky as she claims, or perhaps she just needs some help from: http://home.earthlink.net/~skilton/dictionary.html
I agree with the Captain. I also checked out the dictionary link and found this wonderful word (of which I'm sure we've all been a victim at one time or another):
abvice;
n., Incompetent help from others, especially superiors.
(L. ab victo: away from success)
